Summer Family Reunion in Nauvoo {Les and Bev}

Raising a family of ten kids is hard work. Raising ten kids to be friends while growing up is a challenge. Raising ten kids that are friends as adults is a major feat….one Les and Bev mastered. We were amazed at the close bond between siblings plus spouses and grandkids.

The jokes and laughter were plentiful as were the smiles making our job simple….organize and shoot. The family supplied relaxed poses, loving jabs at one another, and happiness the entire session.

A loving family like this one is a treasure to behold.

What a great family and posterity you two have! We were honored to spend time with you, your kids, and grandkids during your visit to Nauvoo and capture a few moments of that special trip for you. Hope to see you again and see how much your family has grown!

Nauvoo Family Reunion Portraits {Linda and Greg}

Family reunion portrait sessions are a blast, especially when there are more kids than adults in the group. Why? Kids add a different dimension to a session……fluidity. You have to be on your toes at all times because kids are always two steps ahead.

Working with Linda and Greg’s family…daughters (spouses were working) and grandkids…..during their spring break visit to Historic Nauvoo was a pleasure. The kids had such a variety of personalities. Some were up for our suggestions; some had ideas of their own. They did make the group shots more interesting. My favorites? The tree climbers, little ones who wandered off just as everyone else was smiling, and budding cheerleaders.

Such memorable times we have enjoyed with your Nauvoo visits. It was fun having you stay with us at the Inn, meeting part of your big family, and getting to know some of the grandkids. Nauvoo Family Portrait Photography {Rick and Cheryl}

The most delightful portrait sessions are filled with a little silliness, smiles, and happy people. Rick and Cheryl’s family were just that….and a little more. Posing was relaxed and spontaneous for the entire family, which showed us the close bond between parents and kids. They were naturals!

The weather was perfect with ample cloud cover, shade, and sunshine for illumination….although a little bright at times for their redheaded boys. They were troopers as we moved around Temple hill and throughout the flats finding great backdrops as reminders of their family trip to Historic Nauvoo.

We love the results….and are sure you will too!

Nauvoo Wedding Photography {Brooklyn and Scott}

Do you know what is the hardest part of creating a photography blog post? Selecting images from a session. And when you have an awesome wedding session like Brooklyn and Scott’s, narrowing it down to less than 20 is nearly impossible. Actually it was…..this post has 23 and I could have added more.

Brooklyn’s wedding dress was calf length, showing off the bright red pumps on her feet. Scott’s attire? Tux slacks, shirt, and suspenders with a red bow tie and yellow Converse tennis shoes…..and the pair had personality to match. So cute and dapper with a touch of style!

We were able to capture some really unique, fun shots that generate a smile each time we review the images. Bet you smile too!

To Brooklyn and Scott,

From jumping, dipping, carrying, and walking (a groom with the bouquet and bride with red shoes) to smiling, hugging, gazing, and loving…..your wedding session was a joy for us to photograph. Thank you for letting us be part of your day. Wishing you all the best your dreams can hold.

Nauvoo Wedding Photography {Allyson and Michael}

Sweet times in Nauvoo include temple weddings with big families who gather to celebrate a momentous day as a couple begins their life together. Family and friends were there to greet Allyson and Michael when they walked through the temple doors as “Mr. & Mrs.”

The family dynamics were fun too. Allyson was the oldest in her family and Michael the youngest which created some really fun poses……especially when most of the siblings were brothers!

Whenever we suggest the bride and groom kiss and the group give us a reaction, we never know what to expect. This group of boys? Oh, it is classic! We loved the results. Sense of humor and personality shined through!
