Timing is everything…..especially when photographing children and infants during a family reunion. Different family schedules—some are up early, some sleep in. Different nap schedules—some nap in the morning, some nap in the middle of the day. So what does it take to capture cute kid photos? Parents willing to reschedule naps and a very quick photographer.
When we scheduled the Boulton family session and were told there were 11 children under the age of ten, we knew it would require flexibility and quick thinking to keep everyone moving before the littlest ones grew tired.
As parents continued to look at the photographer (Tom), his assistant (Jeanette) jumped, clapped, and used squeaky toys or plush animals to attract the kids’ attention. These are the images we captured of the oh-so-adorable-kiddos-with-plenty-of-charm-and-charisma. Oh yeah, the parents and grandparents were there too……
To the Boulton Family,
What troupers you were during our summer mid-afternoon photography session with your sweet families. You were also all amazing at keeping the kids entertained between individual family group shots. Thank you for letting us interrupt naptimes to get your photos. Wishing you all the best life has to offer.
Hope to see you in Nauvoo again!
